AECoW was invited to attend the inaugural meeting of this group in September, along with Network Rail, Office for Rail & Road, Scottish Water among other stakeholders.
We were delighted to be invited, particularly as AECoW is the only representative, membership body in the Group. The purpose of the group is to share information on linear infrastructure issues and keep up to date with operations & projects, consultations, research, guidance development, policy & strategy development and legislative development.
In line with our Strategy aims and objectives, we raised our key priorities, such as promoting the role of an EnCoW, the importance of monitoring and sharing data in a central repository. We will also be discussing natural capital accounting and the role of environmental economics for the construction phase to promote good practice in contract management.
The Group will meet on a quarterly basis and the next meeting is on 9th December 2021.
